Ben Hill County Schools will no longer Covid contact trace students based on Governor Kemp's recommendations

No More Covid Contact Tracing - Effective 1/13/2022

Governor Kemp and Kathleen Toomey have made contact tracing for schools an optional service. Therefore, Ben Hill County School System will not be doing any contact tracing for school-based exposures. If your school nurse is contacted by a student or staff member about a positive COVID-19 test, they will simply complete the information in the link to Terri Smith. Nurses nor Administrators will conduct the process for any contact investigation. There will no longer be a need for the letter to parents, as there will be no school-based close contacts. No one should be sent home to quarantine because of an exposure at school or a school event.

Nurses will continue to submit all information and complete DPH reporting forms for staff or students with Covid or Covid quarantine.

This will remain in effect until the Governor Kemp says otherwise.
