Coach Savannah Smith

  • Coach Smith

    Savannah Smith is a teacher and coach at Fitzgerald High School.  She was born and raised in Florida until moving to South Georgia in 2006.  Smith attended Fitzgerald High School where she graduated with honors.  She attended Valdosta State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education.  While at VSU, her passion for fitness and physical conditioning grew.  Smith became a personal trainer and went on to get her Master's while teaching at VSU as a Graduate Assistant.  While in graduate school, her passion for weightlifting led her to an internship with VSU's Strength and Conditioning Program, led by National Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year (2007), Michael Doscher.

    n 2016, Smith was hired at Ben-Hill Middle School teaching 7th grade Life Science.  In 2017, Smith took a position of FHS and is now teaching Health, Physical Education, and Weightlifting.  Smith is the Health and Physical Education Department Head, Head Varsity Coach for the Fitzgerald Lady Canes Soccer team, and currently coaching a group of Lady Lifters for the State Champtionship Power Lifting Meet.  Savannah enjoys researching physical conditioning and strives to motivate her students to take an interest in their own health and fitness to better their lives.
