Hello, my name is Jerry Burke, and I am originally from Greenville, South Carolina. I graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College in May of 1987 with an Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts, and then transferred to Clemson University where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing in December of 1990. I joined the Coast Guard in October of 1991 and spent four years in the service before being honorably discharged in October of 1994. After the Coast Guard, I spent several years in various sales positions before joining the Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program in August of 2005. I began teaching in Richmond County, and have also taught in Gwinnett, Bibb, Crawford and Dooly counties before making my way to Fitzgerald. I have primarily spent my years teaching high school mathematics, but thought teaching alternative school would be a chance to help students in need.
