Mrs. Whitley has a Bachelor's Degree and an Education Specialist Degree from Valdosta State University as well as a Master's from Georgia Southwestern. She has taught 9-12 Englilsh at Fitzgerald High School College and Career Academy since the day after she graduated with her Bachelor's at VSU.    Courses she has taught include 9th Grade Lit/Comp, 10th Grade Lit Comp, British Lit, Creative Wriing, Journalism, Drama, Speech, Advanced Placement Language and Composition, and Advanced Placement Literaure and Composition.  Most recently, she has also taught the Dual Enrollment English classes, including English 1101, 1102, and 2130 for Wiregrass Technichal College.  She has also taught as an adjunct for Abraham Baldwin College, where she recieved her Associate Degree, and South Georgia State College as well.  In addition, she  scores  the Advanced Placement Language Exam and the CLEP exam among other tests for Educational Testing Services.

She has been honored as Fitzgerald High School's Teacher of the Year twice, Ben Hill County's Teacher of the Year, and STAR teacher four times in her career.   She has also been honored by Who's Who Among High School Teachers three different times as well as Trademark's Who's Who for Professionals. She has been involved with and directed the Mis Fitzgerald Pageant and participated in  local Arts  Council events.  She has been involved in civic organizations as well, including the Pilot Club and the Jaycees.  In addition, she has a degree in Interior Design from Savannah School of Interior Design. 

She and her husband Stanley live in Irwin County where he is a Deputy Sheriff.  They have one son, Jason Parks, who is a Service Advisor for Tennesson Nissan in Tifton.  

She loves reading, writing, crafting,and traveling--especially to the beach.
