About our Department

  • Ben Hill County School District's Division for Exceptional Students, under the leadership of Director Wanda Kimbrell serves over 440 students with disabilities ages 3 through 21.  Ben Hill County School System offers a continuum of services for students with disabilities.  This Division has a strong belief in meeting the individual needs of the student in a variety of settings and by using differentiated instructional strategies.  Disability areas served include:  emotional/behavioral disorders, specific learning disabilities, mildly, moderately, severely and profoundly intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, hearing impairments, visual impairments, orthopedic impairments, significantly developmentally delayed and speech/language disorders.  If you suspect that your child has a disability, please contact the Ben Hill County School District Special Education Office at 229-409-5500.
