    Ben Hill Co. School District would like to extend a warm welcome to all new teachers joining us for the 2018-2019 school year.  Whether you are new to the district or new to teaching, BHCS is committed to providing the support needed to support new teachers.  Our goal is to offer assistance, so all new teachers will have a productive and successful year in the classroom.    Dr Gail Stokes is in charge of the New Teacher Mentor/Mentee Program for BHCS, and will be working with this group during the school year.

  • Telehealth - Improving the Availability of Health in BHCS

    The Georgia Partnership for Telehealth gives access to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for students and families having to travel to Atlanta on a regular basis for appointments. Telehealth healthcare service will alleviate this hardship and keep students in school for the day.

  • Ben Hill is Selected to Participate in New Computer Science Programs

    The National Science Foundation has awarded the Georgia Department of Education a $300,000 grant to align and support the efforts of several Georgia school districts that are introducing K-12 computer science education. GaDOE will work collaboratively with Wiregrass Technical College, Atlanta Public Schools, Douglas County Schools, Ben Hill County Schools, Brooks County Schools, and Thomas County Schools to pilot “Aligning for Impact: Computer Science Pathways Across Contexts.”

  • Mrs. Lhotte selected to participate in ENERGY Summer Research

    Congratulation to Mrs. Dianne Lhotte, Engineering and Audio Visual Film Technology CTAE (Career, Technical, Agriculture, and Engineering) teacher at Fitzgerald High School, on being selected as one of ten teachers in the state of Georgia to attend an eight week ENERGY Summer Research Experience at Georgia Southern University.

  • Lady Canes Soccer Team Win First Place in Region & Advance in the AA State Playoffs!

    Congratulations Lady Canes Varsity Soccer Team - what an awesome season!  The Lady Canes battled it out with one of their biggest competitors, Berrien Co, to claim the Region 1-AA Championship Title.

  • Free GED Prep Classes

    Wiregrass Technical College is now offering Free GED Preparation Classes at Ben Hill Pre-K Center. Classes are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Youth (ages 16-24) and adults 25 years or older, may be eligible for grant assistance.
